How to get rid of static cling without dryer sheets — 3 Comments

  1. 🙁 I really wish this worked, but for some reason it does nothing for me! I doubt I’m doing something wrong – I mean, how difficult is it to wad three squares of foil into balls and toss them into the dryer?

  2. I’m not sure where you live, but I don’t get much bitter cold weather here. When I do, the aluminum foil in the dryer trick works less well for me. Some, but not entirely. A couple of times I have laid staticky clothes out on the bed and rubbed a handful of metal coat hangers over them. One doesn’t do much. Four or five provide more surface. That, too, helps some. More foil balls than three might help, too. Winter’s nearly over for this year. It will be back next year (sigh).

  3. If your aluminum foil balls don’t work, make bigger ones with at least 2 feet of foil. I even use 3 feet. And I use 3 balls in each load. They last longer as well. Then throw them in recycling when it’s time for a new one.
